Artist's Comments

finally I finished it...... but i think I should spent some more hours on the hair and the smoothing from shaddows :P

Okay this is my very first digital portrait... so I can use a lot of helpful advices ;-)

The original photograph can be found at my scraps

more than 12 hours, photoshop 7.0 and my mouse

I think she maybe looked a little bit like mariah Carey.... I hate her so please don't think it's mariah :P

It's My LARA
LARA FABIAN ( the best female singer ever :-) )

Wow. Amazing job for a first time digital portrait. I can't really offer you much other than this, though, because when it comes to digital art I'm a bit of a novice :D.

Well, it made sense at the time.

i didn't think it was mariah, she reminds me a bit of celine dion. the colouring is wonderfull. first time at digital portrait??? thats amazing!
i think you should smoothen the colours, make them go together a bit. (you know that smudgie tool?) :D
the hair is allso very well done, other then that i think her lips needs some more working on :)

humm...

well either smoother...

or rougher...

You know get things to match each other...

like remove the real bright stuff...

or get the cheek to match the neck...

and the hair... it is chopped in back but long in front...

that should match or be closer...

and the black in all places isn't right..

you could use the tiled stuff on the left in those places...

but Good Work for the time you spent...

I hope I'm not to critical...

just trying to be helpful :D

I like this, the shadows are really good. I agree with you on the hair though, I think it could use a little more work.

And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes
And brought me here instead dressed in red
And I'm wondering who could be writing this song.

The tones in the skin are so pretty...I think the hair looks great already--it sort of matches the style of the picture, but I don't know anything about digital painting, so. The only thing is the shadow framing the face on the left is a bit abrupt. Changes from black to hair really fast.

Very well done :D
